Citica, Curado gears

Post by mobass11652 » Thu Oct 03, 2019 7:38 pm

Ok so I had a friend send me a set of gears from a Scorpion04 if I recall correctly. Will these work in the 100d series/50mg’s??

Thanks
Tom

It depends on which model Scorpion. There were different sizes like 1000, 1500, etc. I believe the 1000 was similar to the Curado 100D. I would need to see a picture of the reel to let you know exactly.

Bantam,
Thank you for the reply, these were a spare set he had laying around. The scorpion that they fit into is the scorpion 1000 with the Calais style handle (small like 80 or 84mm) with the svs 4x4 external brakes. It also has the chameleon looking spool if that helps. I found a review tackletour did in 04 and it is the same reel that I am referring to.

If these gears fit will I need any new drag washers or key washers or possibly any other components?

Thanks

It should be the same or similar tooling so the gears should work. Worst case you install them and see if they fit. The drive gear is easy enough to match up by placing it on top of the other. The key washer and drag washer should fit.
