Hey Dan, is there a comparable or direct replacement for this bearing?

The BNT2396, and subsequent upgrades, have all been superseded by BNT5021.

They are available.

Best,

Terry.

BNT2396 is the correct number and it is the one that should be used.

BNT5021 is for the Conquest only due to tolerances for the side plate and precise gear alignment needed. You would see no benefit to using this bearing in other reels.

The BNT2396 costs $9.25 where the BNT5021 cost is $26.70. It will work, but you are paying more than double the price for extra tight tolerances only needed for the Conquest.

We have several different A/R bearings with similar dimensions. There are slight differences in them such as inner roller diameters, out case dimensions, etc. All of these are for a specific reason in each different bearing. Yes they can interchange, but some will make the reel feel tighter, some bearings may not fit tight into the side plate and some may be too tight for the side plate. Always go with the schematic number. If you cannot find it just ask me here or call our customer service number.

Thanks, Dan. I have an old Citica that I'm pulling out of retirement.
