Curado 301E, Will Tranx 301 Paddle Handle Question
I'm looking to upgrading the stock paddle handle on my Curado 301E and was wondering of the Tranx 301 paddle handle will fit and work the 301E.
Re: Curado 301E, Will Tranx 301 Paddle Handle Question
The drive shaft size on the Tranx is larger than the Curado. This means the handle will move slightly due to the larger opening int he handle shank. Yes it will fit technically, but the fitment is not correct and not advised.

But you can get spacers for next to nothing on Aliexpress that will make it work. FWIW, Daiwa/Abu handles will fit the TranX.

Do you know of their composition, they either look like some pot alloy or some backyard looking repurposed copper swage.
Chuck that into an area that's stainless steel and aluminium and add water and boom - powder.
That's the only thing putting me off using them because not one seller has given me any sort of accurate answer as to what they're made from.

The ones I have are aluminum.

Are they anodized? Raw aluminum will also be an issue in saltwater. The driveshaft is stainless and the handle is anodized aluminum. There are also different grades of aluminum. Some are better than others for corrosion reasons.
If the reel is only going to be used in freshwater it shouldn't be an issue.

Should've seen the Chronarch e5 I just sent away, the handle plate that sits above the drag star clicker plate had just turned to powder - this is what you got to watch for, especially in salt or brackish waters.
But the use of a dielectric non corrosive compound used between dissimilar metals is what should be common practice - but rarely ever applied.

Im not sure if they are anodized, but likely not. They should be fine for FW, though.Bantam1 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 27, 2020 5:08 amAre they anodized? Raw aluminum will also be an issue in saltwater. We use some of our drag grease and it seems to work just fine. Many of the reels are now coming that way from the factory.Slazmo wrote: ↑Mon Jul 27, 2020 1:56 pmShould've seen the Chronarch e5 I just sent away, the handle plate that sits above the drag star clicker plate had just turned to powder - this is what you got to watch for, especially in salt or brackish waters.
