Grease for tension knob

Post by fishinjim » Fri Feb 05, 2021 10:20 am

Bantam,
I have a number of 70 series Curados with tension knobs that won't stay put.
Saw a couple posts on here where you recommended adding some ACE-2 grease to the threads as a remedy.
Can you tell me if the ACE-2 grease you're referring to is the same as the Drag Star Grease Cosmo Ace RB #2?
Thanks.

They are the same grease. I too had done this for my Curado 70 way back.

Yes it is the same grease and it is what we use. Just apply a little to the threads and it will help it stay put. Another trick is to remove and reinstall the o-ring. They tend to compress a little over time. Removing it and installing again will help give them some more tension under the cap.

I wrap the threads with teflon tape.
