Stella SW14K different colours to 18K
Just wondering what's up with Shimano QC. The Stella SW 14K has a more subdued (nicer imo) gold highlights where's the the 18K has a much brighter yellow bling bling gold shade. Doesn't look as classy as my 14K does.
Both latest models.
Also my 14K spool shaft moves side to side much more than my 18K.. both brand new.

Re: Stella SW14K different colours to 18K
The gold can vary slightly due to the forging process prior to machining. The grains of the material can alter how the color looks. As far as the play it is hard to say why one has more than the other without seeing the reel. Some play is normal due to the new design of the reel. There is a bearing on the rotor nut with a small bushing to help eliminate the play, but as I said some play is normal. If you feel it is excessive I would send the reel in for inspection.
