This C clip that attaches ot the main shaft and which supports the line guard I'm having a hard time putting it back on without bending it. What's the best way to do it in terms of tools and hand positioning. Learned the hard way today why that's line guard should be on there.
Thanks!

Re: Ultegra 5500 C Clip Question
Try a little grease on the two prongs of the C clip, dry metal on metal makes for hard work.

Re: Ultegra 5500 C Clip Question
Thanks!
I added some grease to the prongs, grabbed the outside of one the prongs in some linesman pliers with opening pointing towards me used my left hand to hold the clip opening against the channel on the main shaft and it popped on there. PReviously I had bent the clip when I tried this. It did go on but it was bent a bit and that made noise/vibration.
