21 Calcutta Conquest 100HG pinion replacement

Just wanted to double check If this is a weird error with the inventory because of the parts number system migration or if it’s actually true. Both the old pn:BNT6844 and the global pn:100HY are showing as discontinued on the site. Surely this isn’t the case right since the model is only 3 years old

I sure hope that is a mistake. Especially because the 24 Shallow Edition shares the same pinion. I think the Antares uses the same main and pinion also.

same main, different pinion for the 19 antares which is pretty common in shimano reels. for example the 2012 antares maingear has been used in the 2016 and 2021 dc models but they all had their own specific pinions

Not sure. I see what you do now, part 6844 is discontinued. Has the refer thing to 100HY but not sure what that means. Really hoping this isn't real.

I need to talk to our parts guy. There is a note stating Japan redesigned and use the new number, but the new number is not showing on my side. The 100HY is discontinued due to the change. I think he is back from vacation today. If not I will email Japan and hopefully have an answer by tomorrow morning.

I can honestly say I have never seen this message come up before. Usually when there is a running change it will have the new number showing in the message/note for the description.

Sorry for the delay in this response. We have been waiting for Japan to confirm the part numbers. It appears there was a mistake made and the 100HY is the correct part number for the gear. They have been ordered for our inventory and hopefully will come on the next parts shipment at the end of June, or end of August at the latest.
