Adding Snaps to Your Baits
Adding Snaps to Your Baits
Do you guys add snaps to your swimbaits? If so what kinds do you use and for which applications?
I know that Castaic says no snaps should be used for plats and I've heard that it can hinder the performance of a Hudd. Is it more of a hard bait modification?

I can't see it hurtin that much on larger baits.
If it alreadyhas a spit ring, I would take it off and use the snap. Just make sure it is heavyduty.
I figure if the lure maker doesn't put a split ring on it, tie direct.
Re: Adding Snaps to Your Baits
The truth is I´ve never seen a soft plastic swimbait with a snap, but in hard baits a lot of them come with a snap.

me neither.

I like snaps a lot. I use them if the lure originally have it or instead of the splitring
