Re: Mend It
The bottle design was changed after the original unit quickly lost its volatile component. Mine was replaced at no charge and still has the same volume as new.

Re: Mend It
Just use crazy glue, same stuff.
Get your kids hooked on fishing, and they'll never have any money for drugs or alcohol.

Re: Mend It
Zodiak....no, it's not the same.
Re: Mend It
I use it and it works. I like it.
Re: Mend It
Mend it is definitely not the same as crazy glue. mend it is actually a galvanizing fluid, much like the glue used for bike tube patches. It actually melts the plastic surfaces it is applied to then dries, creating a chemical bond. also crazy glue tends to get hard/crusty because it will dry out, where as the mend it will just adhere the plastics together after they melt then evaporate. You can tell from the odor as well that they are not exactly the same, you can smell some sort of acetone-y smell in the mend it which is likely the component that melts and resets the plastic. all in all it's good stuff it only takes a drop to repair plastic worms, i.e. ripped senkos -.-. and its fun modifying stuff with left over plastics, but I think the best value is repairing big soft plastic swimbaits. Where mend it does not work is securing soft plastic swimbait bodies like fishtraps and big hammers to swimbait heads, for that I like zap-a gap, over crazy glue, because it holds better and doesn't crust up and dry out like crazy glue IMO.
Re: Mend It
Can Mend It be used to repair torn senkos?
I have a bag full of torn up senkos that I would like to recycle.

Re: Mend It
I personally like huddlebond. Works on all baits.
Re: Mend It
I've used Mend-It for several years and IMHO it is the best plastics repair stuff on the market. Use it for swimbaits, senkos, etc. Now that the maunfacturer has changed the bottle from plastic to glass with a brush it will last forever....well almost ! I have a bottle that is in my boat; been there for over 6 months and the weather here has been damn hot !
Re: Mend It
The stuff works as advertised however I've yet to have a bottle of that stuff last long enough to use a second time.
Glad to hear they changed the bottle its packaged in.
For attaching baits to hooks I like Pro Soft Bait glue.

Re: Mend It
Just use a cig lighter or better yet get a mini soldering torch. They sell the micro torch's cheap at most tool stores. It's so easy to melt the plastics back together and with a little practice using a micro torch, you can weld them back together and never see a seam.
Re: Mend It
Crazy glue now makes a brushed applicator as well, increasing the usefulness of the product as well since it's real good for plastics to jig heads attachment.
Re: Mend It
I use it at least 3 times per week and it works very well, incredible stuff
