Tackle Warehouse Angler Backpack or Plano SoftSider X

Post by adriancean » Sat May 26, 2012 11:01 am

I need a bag or backpack able to keep as many boxes Plano, model 3700! I like these two:
http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Tackle_W ... TWABP.html and http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Plano_So ... SSXTB.html (3700 model).
What you choose? The Plano bags seems to be made of quality materials...
Until next time....Tight Lines!

I have had the TW Backpack (old version) for the past 1 1/2yrs. Fishing as a coangler in the BFL's, I was looking for something to maximize the amount of tackle, while limiting the amount of space it takes up. If you are looking at just how many 3700's each will hold then the Plano wins with four compared to the backpack's three, but if you are wanting the bag that will hold the most tackle the backpack wins hands down, considering the 3600 in the front and all the extra pockets and room it has avaliable. I ordered the new backpack yesterday to replace my old one! \:D/

The Tacklewarehouse say "The bags are made mostly from double stitched nylon fabric." I asked yesterday. :D Honestly, I do not like the material. But maybe I am wrong ... Can you tell us more about it after getting it, maybe some pictures ..

I was disappointed to find out last year that the original TW backpack was a limited run since I was going to order it and it disappeared. I have been dropping hints to the wife about this new one!

I had their previous version and it's falling apart. I know TW was aware of the durability of these and gave refunds or store credit....as far as the new one I don't know. Not sure if I want to spend $60 on another bag that won't last more than 1 season of fishing.

If you like the Shimano backpack I would get the TW, I think Shimano made this bag for them and you are getting a heck of a deal with the TW backpack. :big grin:
I will NEVER sell another 3:16 swimbait again!

Go to Home Depot and get a Tool Bag, you save alot of money for other fishing gear and the bag will outlast any fishing bag out there.

I love mine and I can get into it fast.

This is my Shore bag...

I received the backpack but package was intercepted by the wife! This is the second time in two weeks! LOL Birthday is this Thursday and she thought it is a great idea to wrap it up! Damn, I hate when I forget to have my fishing tackle shipped to my business instead of the house! Anyways, will try to get pics this weekend. Sorry for the delay!

Toolbag is a great idea, Bronzeback. I prefer a backpack though, and the more I look at that TW backpack, the more I want to try one out. My main problem with backpacks is zipper longevity. Apparently I have a habit of "overloading" . My current bag, an old O'Neill backpack, has held up well for the past few years, but just doesn't have the organization of a made-for-tackle bag. This TW bag and the Shimano Blackmoon pack are the most interesting to me. I like BPS's backpack as far as features go, but wish it came in the black and red theme from a year or two ago, as opposed to the bright blue it currently is.
