Which landing net?
Which landing net?
I need a new landing net for the boat. Will be used for Bass fishing. Any suggestions on a good landing net? Was looking at reviews on Bass Pro as a starter and everything seems to have really mixed reviews.

Go the Walmart and get one of the cheap aluminum landing nets and compare the weight to the more expensive ones.

I like one with a rubber net...they arnt as deep but they stretch if the if the fish is bigger. They save alot of time, you dont have to dig the fish outa the net and most importantly you dont spend 5-10 plus minutes getting you lure unhung from the net.

Ego FTW. I have one of the OG Egos from this review http://www.tackletour.com/reviewegonet.html and it's been great for several years. I've been wanting to get a Slider since they came out but I just haven't gotten around to doing it yet. I was tempted to get the Frabill Hiber-Net last year but I really like a rubber net so no go, the design is really cool though.

Caution on the HiberNet....I have witnessed tournament pigs get caught mid-body on the flexible frame and go the wrong way out of the net...not a pretty sight when the lure comes out of the mouth at the same time...Luckily it was my buddies, not me...but I thought I may have seen a tear in his eye...Toadslayer72 wrote:. I also read a lot of reviews of it not collapsing and expanding very well when I was looking at it.

Yeah, I've seen mixed reviews on that net and I'm not getting it anyway. The main appeal for me was how it compacts down as I have to hike all of gear when I fish my main body of water. It would have been nice to strap that aluminum pole in the bundle with my oars and telescopic lure retriever.

SO you were the net man who missed the fish?!?!
On a serious note, I think these are worth a look if maximizing storage is paramount.
Looks like attwood makes a very similar net as well. http://www.attwoodmarine.com/store/prod ... old-n-stow

No, I was not the net man. Just close enough to my buddies at the end of the tournament day to see the commotion--
