Actually, I think ya'll are viewing this deal in the wrong light.....buying them is a "technique" in and of its own. The fishing them part is a whole other animal....Keep buying them fellas, I do. 8-[ Carolina rig for me, I just never get used to the mushy feel of that whole contraption. I do better with a heavy drop shot "bubba rig". Man this place has grown up since I used to stomp around here. I love what ya'll have done with the place!! 8-) 8-) 8-)

When I was in my 20's all I ever used were 1/4 oz Spinnerbaits. Caught thousands of fish.

Now I've bought all the BEST spinnerbaits and have one tied on a rod I bring. But don't unsleeve the rod.

Next I even went as far as custom made crank baits. But now have a box of them that I leave home.

Got a drop shot spinning rod. Not fond of technique. Use it for wacky worm and love it.
I guess we "evolve" in our technique.

Bought a bunch go chatter baits recently to try the technique. Almost bought a rod for it and realized that it too will be a "phase."

Wonder what's next?

I try to make myself use a little used bait to keep a skill set current. Also grind away at new ones to get competent in the first place.

Same here. The majority of my waters foul jigs the instant they hit bottom. I believe the last bass I caught on a jig was yawning and the jig landed in it's mouth ...

Swimbaits. I have a couple boxes full of them and usually cast one 10 times and put it down.

I'm gonna have to go with deep diving crankbaits.

I must be really close minded cause lately ive just fished how i like, not whats actually catching fish, lol. I primarily throw topwater, jerkbaits, lipless cranks, and finesse plastics, shakeyhead, flickshake & dropshot.

Baits i dont throw that much but will when the time is right, Squarebills, deep cranks, hollow body frogs, hornytoads, swimbaits

Baits ive never thrown or rarely throw, Jigs, Curly tail worms, creature baits, c-rigs, a-rig

Crankbaits are top on my list to use first this includes square bills to deep divers then soft plastics. Carolina rig and spinnerbaits are the two I dislike the most and rarely use

Deep running crank baits. One reason is that they need to be cast a long wày to get them deep, and requires a longer and heavier rod. I don't like the rig, plus I just can't cast long distances.

I have a brand new Powell 711 deep water cranking rod with the tags still on it.

I also have many colors of plastic baits that I don't use. I usually use the standard green pumpkin or watermelon colors.

Definetly drop shot. There's a whole section of the lake that stays gin clear almost all year(spring creek) that is drop shotting paradise and I just never do it. Hard to fish that slow.

Jerkbaits. Tend to buy them out of habit, but end up leaving them in my tackle box since I normally fish in shallow waters. :P
