Most Under Utilized
Most Under Utilized
What technique or tackle is your most under-utilized?
This week I realized that I dont fish s/b enough. I know how to use them and have in the past and I was in a situation were i needed to get them out and could not remember when was the last time I had. As far as tackle is concerned I have a D7 and a Curado DHSV paired with a 7'6" cork crucial fippin stick that I dont use much at all. I havent even found an alternate use for it but i take it every boating trip.

Senko type baits for me...I "refuse" to tease bass with hotdogs.

Shoot thats what I fish the most! They love em!dragon1 wrote:Senko type baits for me...I "refuse" to tease bass with hotdogs.
Somewhat for me too. I used to fish them a lot, mostly as a crutch though since I didnt know how to fish plastics well. Now I've spun a 180. I fish mostly plastics and leave my $100's of cranks in the box.QUAKEnSHAKE wrote:Crankbaits for me. I keep buying them but never use them
Mostly for me though, it is the C-rig. It's been two years since I've tied one up.
Re: Most Under Utilized
C rig, cranks, drop shot, umbrella rig (do people even do that still?) and hair jig.

It made me laugh because I thought it was just me. :-)fishingman88 wrote:+1 This made me laugh because it's so true.i_am_R2 wrote:ThisQUAKEnSHAKE wrote:Crankbaits for me. I keep buying them but never use them
Not a fan of carolina rigs or jerk baits, though I know I am missing out.
(actually now that I think about it I use the Rapala UL minnow a lot for finesse...that thing's fantastic for me.)

But I just caught my PB on a GY senko so I see myself now utilizing this technique.
Jigs would be a very second for me, not sure why but I never throw them.

Top water... Except when night fishing, i love hearing pop, pop, splash and not being able to see a thing.

Spinnerbaits, c-rigs, and crankbaits.
Everytime I finish tying on a c-rig I usually get it snagged within the first three casts.

Probably cranks and spinnerbaits like a few others have said. I just don't care for the reaction stuff as much as some guys. I feel like I do better with soft plastics, jigs, topwater, soft swimbaits, and jerkbaits.

Drop shot for me. I fish a lot of rocky and weedy bottoms…after a few snags I usually give it up.
