best brick and mortar tackle shop

Just curious what the best shop you guys have ever been in? I'd have to say mark's outdoors in B-ham. In a store that's not all that big they have more tackle rods and reels than anywhere else I've ever been. More selection than bps,cabelas, and gobbler mountain combined. They have lots of Japanese items and a good amount of custom stuff that TW doesn't have. Hand made cranks, custom paint jobs, and the list goes on and on. West end sporting goods on the north side of wheeler lake is another great store, as well as Hammonds fishing tackle in Atlanta. Now I live in the upper Midwest and we don't have any real good independent shops.

Sportco in Fife, WA. The sale prices on their rods can rarely be beat even by used items on the net.

The Hook Up Tackle shop in Arizona is the best shop I've visited. If I'm ever down south, I would love to see what the Tackle Trap looks like.

Mark's in B'ham is an awesome shop. I went there with my brother a couple of years ago to pick up an AR for him. It's amazing how they fit so much in that little store.

Been there and I have to say I felt Capra's was much better.

I'd have to say that the best shop I've been to has been Land Big Fish here in my home town. They were here but have moved and, yes it's the same as the website. We have a new shop coming in so I'll have to see how well it stacks up to what used to be here.

The shop was off the wall and I'm not exaggerating by any means. I was employed there so it may seem biased, but I use to get guys from all over the US and they said nothing compare to it. It was pretty much a open warehouse to shop since we pulled items off the shelf to fill internet orders. They took orders from many pro's as well. I miss it greatly.

This is a decent shop, I was surprised. Especially for North Bay.
I've been there a few times now when visiting the wifes family up there.

Hi's Tackle Box for the awesome customer service and enthusiast inventory. I probably would not have purchased a Megabass rod if I could not have held them in their showroom. Nothing beats actually getting to handle something exotic to make you want to buy it!

Monster Tackle for their "Oh my gosh, they have everything" for both freshwater and saltwater. We were truly amazed when we first walked into the store. Bass, trout, salmon all kinds of ocean fishing. You could get lost in their rod display area. Both of these shops are over an hour away, but worth the occasional drive.

We have some nice shops, both independent and chain, in Sacramento, but they stock what sells best for them, mass market products. Fisherman's Warehouse has a 25' (at least) display of Ugly Stiks and they periodically just empty it out. They know their market.

In Ohio, it used to be Land Big Fish before they moved to KY. Another shop is opening up near there...we'll see if it is up to TT snuff.
