hook keepers
I currently use the Fuji hook keepers and they work well but sometimes they break. Anybody try the daiwa keepers?
Re: hook keepers
I also use the Fugis, but I like the looks of the Daiwa design. Where can you buy them?

Re: hook keepers
How are they breaking? I've never had any of mine fail.
I wouldn't be surprised if Fuji was making those for Daiwa. It's the same concept so I don't know how those would do any better.

Re: hook keepers
some the rubber o-rings break off and i've had the rollers break come off a few times.
the daiwa is designed with no rollers and i like the dual hooking design.

Re: hook keepers
thanks for the heads up...i like these a lot better than the fuji keepers. the only problem is, i want black but the plat website doesn't show they sell black (although i think it is a typo).
edit: i emailed plat and they corrected the listing on their website for the black color. i ordered 10 of them...total including handling fee, shipping and paypal exhange rates came out to $38.53.

Re: hook keepers
just wanted to update this thread since receiving the hook keepers yesterday.
i love 'em! to me, worlds better than the fuji EZ keepers. for one, the elastic rings are sized more-appropriately; with the fujis, it always seemed like the small ring was too small and the larger ring was too big. secondly, the clip part of the holder is temporarily opened by just pressing down on the front part of the holder; no more having to fully open or fully close the holder to clip on dropshot weights. i have replaced all my fuji's with these and am finally happy with all my MB rods that did not come with keepers and with my other favorite rods that only had the loop style of keepers built-in.

Re: hook keepers
They look good, I need four of those bad boys.
My purple Fuji's look good on the x7's but I like how those daiwas work for dropshot.

Re: hook keepers
This thread reminded me of something I wanted for a quite while, just keep forgetting. Here is something I found on mudhole. A magnetic hook keeper that also covered the hook points. Anybody tried it before?

I have some on order from Japan Lure Shop. Combined it with my Aldebaran order.
Re: hook keepers
anybody have a black diawa they would be willing to part with? i just put a big order through w/ japan lure shop about 2 weeks ago and forgot to add to the order , my new megabass rod needs a keeper and i don't want to spend 12 bucks to ship a 3 dollar part.
Re: hook keepers
Anyone try these?

The Owner models use a magnet to keep the hook in place.
