Not ant- BFS at all. It is certainly a more enjoyable (to me) alternative to spinning . My discovery of Tackle Tour was the end of all my spinning combos.

I'm kind of new to bfs but I love it. Something about catching cichlids one cast and peacock bass the next with a bait caster is just plain fun.....

I am in California on business and got to go after some stocked trout. Took a good one on the Volkey 69XUL with #6 red label and a 1/8oz tiny trap.

On the opposite end of skiing bass on 80lb braid...
One of the reasons I have not gone full blow BFS on a few of my doable reels is the fact that I flyfish and I set aside the crazy tiny/light 'baits' for that.

The only technique I prefer spinning gear for is drop shots due to the vertical drop. I prefer the efficiency of casting gear.

So do I and I live in Fl.
South Fl is where it's at. I live about 5 hrs north in the Tampa Bay Area and we have none of the exotics here that they have down there. They even have American Crocodiles down there that are native to the area.

Haha, nice! I have the same exact setup. Where are you in California? If you're in SoCal, my brothers and I are practically the only ones that has BFS setup(at least seems like it when we fish for trouts). People would always come up to us and question us about why we using baitcasters for and how we wouldn't be able to cast light stuff.

All about it. Got rid of all my spinning gear since i've discovered BFS last year. Its more than simply "worth it". Walleye fishing with a bfs setup is so funImage

The only areas of bass fishing I haven't pushed the limits of are BFS and bigger Swimbaits rigs. I will probably be giving both a try but BFS is on my radar first as it appeals more to the size of the fish and lakes we have here. :D

I'm not anti anything. Each to there own!
I dont offshore bluewater fish really but I'm not against it.
If you enjoy great.
If you enjoy throwing light lures and can do so on baitcast gear I hope you enjoy.

I can see advantage of bfs
Would I try it one day probably yes.
