i fish a ned rig all the time with out fancy gear. Curado 70 with 6 or 8 lbs mono, either my 6'6" ML rod from aliexpress, or a 6'3" M action rod. Casts a mile. I fish a 1/20 to 1/15 oz jog head with a 3" senko

I use both a stock Tatula SV TW and Zillion SV TW with a 7'M Steez XT. I can cast a 1/10 with a TRD Tubez a long ways and don't have to worry about backlashes. I fish them with 6lb Tatsu. These combos are awesome.

These things cast pretty well since they're compact and aerodynamic, so you don't have to go crazy bfs.
This is the way.

Also keep in mind that a Ned made from a 1/16oz jig with a small hook and a TRD worm weighs in almost right at 3/16oz. My stock sv105 with 10lb floro and a ML/RF rod was casting it very well for distance, but did suffer a little with short, precise casts.

That's what I was thinking.

I throw a similar rig with a 1/16 or 1/8 weight and small plastics all day long with pretty much all my baitcasters.

Comes out to 3/16ths or 1/4 when you factor in plastic...

Any of the smaller baitcasters would be fine.

Curado 70, tatula 70

But a 7'6 spinner with 8lb braid tied to a long leader would cast furhter would cast further

A BFS reel will also cast that bait further than a regular baitcast reel although you run the risk of spool the reel on the cast depending on the diameter of of line used and capacity of the spool.

Been searching high and low for someone to talk about the Tatula SV's capabilities... How does it compare to the Zillion for this technique?

How much does a TRD weigh by itself?

I weighed all of them out of a package and this was the weight range of the ZMAN TRD 2.75" --- 3.913-4.331 grams.
Also
ZMAN 4" BIG TRD 6.540-6.644g
ZMAN 5" ZINKERZ 9.823-9.290g

The ZMAN SHROOMZ jigheads
1/20 1.669g ---- 1/10 3.740g ---- 1/5 5.399g

Sorry, was running out the door and tried to post a pic I thought I had already uploaded. My scale has them at .146 ounces.

Generaly, a Ned rig will weigh in around 3/16oz with a new elaztech worm and an 1/16oz jighead.
