I am not asking in order to make a purchase decision. It is more to see what people think.

For the 3/8 to half ounce spinnerbaits......

I don't know if a better rod has been made than the 7'1 cumulous.

It's perfect. I used to think the butt was a hair too short but after fishing some other similar sticks.....nope...perfection.

Pair it with a 6.3:1 steez sv tws.
Or a conquest dc...

I haven't fished a more enjoyable spinner outfit to date.

Since I consider you as one of my fishing gear tackle gurus (enjoying ur YouTube channel) I would love to get your thoughts particularly on the Jig combo.

I know that you have the Daiwa AGS. I am complaining to either get the St a Croix legend x or the Daiwa (not sure yet on the exact model) for that technique and pair it either with my Steez sv tws or get a Abu my extreme. Weight, balance and sensitivity are what is important to me in a rod. I have already a helium 3 7' hxf, so would like to get a noche above in the three mentioned categories but also in rod length.

Thank u sir!

For the first 4 categories, I don't think you could go wrong with the 844 (7'H, 3/8-1oz) or 904(7'6"H, 1/4-1oz) Conquest rods. Super versatile moving bait and jig rods, could probably handle the deep diving crankbaits as well.

Thanks man!

I don't have any time on any other ags rods..And i know from past experiences that a rod or two in a lineup may be gems. And the others turds..So i don't know about the others.

I like throwing lightwire hook jigs. Even in heavy cover... That said...the mgxtreme2 would be the last reel i would buy for jigs. The max drag on it is 6lbs. I've confirmed that with a few people already. And the 12lb stated max drag is incorrect.
I tried adding carbontex smoothies and even the drag washers from teh old mgx. And couldn't get it over 6.5lbs. Any tighter i would break the drag star or ruin the threads.

That being said....the steez has been great throwing jigs. No dig in issues if you worry about pitching with the t wing.

As far as rod. Cumulous doubles as a good jig rod and that has been what i've been using.

The 8' steez i use works great for jigs...but it's a tad slow in the tip. Taking a bit more to get it loaded up.

1/2 oz jigs shorter rod Phase III Bearing Down Longer Rod Evergreen Hercules Airy Flip
3/8 oz spinnerbaits SBR 812
1/2 oz spinnerbaits Megabass Black Jungle Deep Cranking Slow Rolling
3/8 to 1/2 oz paddletail swimbaits Dobyns Champion 734C
3/4 oz - 3 oz swimbaits Megabass Black Jungle Power Versatile

3/8 - 1 oz medium to deep running crankbaits Megabass Black Jungle Deep Cranking Slow Rolling

I'm sure there are other good choices for these categories, maybe better, but these are some of my favorites.
