I have quite a few. One 3/8oz, four or five 1/2oz and a pair of 3/4oz. I am going to take them out this week or next and see about some bites. I figure my MH Dark Angel with 15lb copolymer should suffice. They should slay in rivers for smallies too.

Not yet man, we are experiencing a monsoon. All rivers and lakes coming up several feet per day, flooding, fun stuff. It should be May sometime for smallies, may drive to a wading creek and check it out.

I've got three different weights and colors. They cast great, feel great, but I haven't caught anything on them yet. Not even a nibble. Could be me, could be the lure.

I ordered a pretty good assortment of the dark sleepers. I thought I had something new, one of my kayak fishing buddy’s says, oh those, tried them last year, they’re ok.

I haven’t caught anything with them yet, but I haven’t fished a whole lot either.

First time out with these, I caught two on my first two casts. They seem to try and swallow these quickly, making hooksets easy to make. I was using the 3", 1/2oz in hanahaze. First flip was against a tree in a little feeder of a park lake and I skittered it away about 4 feet. Whilst sinking, it got smoked. Second cast, I skipped it deeper into the creek and let it sink. It, again, got smoked on the drop. I'm sold.

I have a quick question fellas.

I've got a major jones for the DS and was wondering, in my situation, what would you recommend? From my 'yak, I float some skinny, gnarly places where a 6'6" stick is almost too long, but then I also fish some open lakes and ponds. I'm wanting to fish these in a kayak river tourney in September alongside my buzzbaits and poppers. How long a rod would you feel comfortable throwing from a yak, seated on a Tarpon 100, in a creek that's often less than 40 feet wide.

My current creek rod, a 5'6" M Lightning Rod, is not stiff enough, but I think a longer rod wouldn't be ideal because of the length. Also, the longer handles get stuck on my PFD and make it a pain.

I've got like 5 3/8oz, 5 1/2oz and 2 3/4oz. Also, clear water, is 15lb Hi Seas on a MH too much or should I use a M and 10lb Hi Seas? I know I'm rambling here, but I'm at work and have the time right now.

The type/density of structure will determine whether to use 10# or 15# line. If its really gnarly like you say, the 15# is a no-brainer there. The amonut of current will dictate whether to use a lighter or heavier bait. Hard to say what you should do, since I don't know the conditions of your particular body of water. I do know I would personally go over a 6' pistol-grip rod if the creek isnt over 40' wide. If you cant find an adequately-stiff rod, I would look into a custom built to your specs. You can always go with a longer, stiffer blank and have it butt-cut down to your needs.

I have been using them here and there this year without much luck. I haven't dedicated time to really get to know the bait yet. Looks great in the water and should be a killer around me as we have several different species of darter fish that look very similar.

Eyes fall off, they do get covered in weeds at times bit I caught some good fish on them. Lost one getting snagged on a rock and a big snakehead or catfish got my other one wedged under a ledge pulling drag. I want to try the 4 inch versions next.

I have been using the 1/2oz size for over a month now and overall its been a very good lure. Yeah the eyes fell off pretty much on the first use and the hook needed sharpening but a fish attractor it is. Durability on the body is excellent as well its getting some tears now that I fixed with mend-it but still very useable. I tried the 1/4oz size today and before the first fish, only about 4 casts, one eye feel off also the hook seems much sharper on this one.
