Fishing fingers
Fishing fingers
So every year about this time I start to wear my fingerprints smooth from fishing a lot. Does this happen to anyone else. Items just seem to slip out of my hands.

Re: Fishing fingers
I've done that, and worse. I've actually had my thumb get so rough that it would crack open and bleed from lipping so many fish.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

Nope, I sometimes go home with a skunk, but not often. Its just that down here in the ponds I fish, the fish are as dumb as they are big!Finnz922 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2019 8:02 amOOOH Tim the master angler catches too many fish .......hoohoorjoo wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2019 6:16 amI've done that, and worse. That's awesome! I look at rough/raw thumbs and just below the thumb as badges of honor. I have tried explaining it to my wife and she just looks at me and says. Oh, that's nice. Oh well.hoohoorjoo wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2019 11:04 amNope, I sometimes go home with a skunk, but not often. Re: Fishing fingers
Anyone get line cuts from pulling out snags? Never fails I get them at the joints of my fingers and they stay there for weeks on end.

Re: Fishing fingers
It only took me once to learn, never pull a snag without thick gloves on. I use braid almost exclusively, and it hurts big-time when it cuts you, because it burns you, too.

Re: Fishing fingers
I also get those smooth fishing fingers. In my case it happens because the Swedish Bikini Team keeps tabs on my whereabouts and they often parachute in to wherever I'm fishing and they demand that I rub warmed oil on their bodies. If I'm on a slow bite I'll do it, but I have noticed my fingertips and palms and gotten smooth.

Re: Fishing fingers
Not just from pulling snags, any time I spend a day fishing a reel with braid on it I end up with a few cuts. I just glue them shut now.
