Do you guys always use reel covers and rod sleeves?
Re: Do you guys always use reel covers and rod sleeves?
I made some rod sleeves pretty cheap and it definitely improves my peace of mind when traveling to a tournament. I don't do the reel covers but instead got a long terry cloth with velcro on the ends and weave it in between my rods. This protects them from banging together and only requires one piece of cloth compared to 10. I also 3d printed little rings for my rod socks that tell me rod they belong to.

I use rod sleeves when my rods are being stored at home and on the drive to my destination, they come off when on the water though. Don't have reel covers but thinking of picking some up.

I use rod sleeves in the rod locker on the boat, but not reel covers.

Always some sort of rod sleeve/sock for storage and transport.
Store my reels in big reel cases with room for 8-12 reels (have 10 of those). When heading on a fishing trip I bring 1-2 reels in separate small cases.
Set up the combo where I park and never carry more than 1 rod with me when fishing from shore. Use 1-2 rods when fishing from boat.

I try to make it a habit, I'm really clumsy but damage seems to happen when I'm trying not to be

Just rod sleeves in the boat locker. I layer my rods with an extra throw float to keep the top and bottom layer of rods separated.

Rod sleeves in my boat, during winter I bring them all in and put them on a rod rack.
I loosen the drags before storage, before spring I clean all reels and rods.

Rod sleeves only. Keep them on in rod locker to prevent tangles and damage. When the rod goes to the deck the sleeve comes off and stays in the locker. I have a foam based handle system to put the rod 'butts' in, this prevents reel damage.

Rod sleeves when in the rod locker. I don't use reel covers except for the new Exist I just bought this season. I never thought I would spend $800 on a spinning reel and decided to put a cover on it.
Re: Do you guys always use reel covers and rod sleeves?
I use covers for both. I'm usually stomping trout streams so I assemble my rig by the car then hoof along.

No. But I bought camera bags from discount and I use those for reels. Rods I store in original rod sock + rod case.
