Its simple - Made in Japan.
For "off the shelf" JDM Daiwa rods ahead of anything on that list.

I sold all my Gloomis because their warranty policy changed after Shimano bought them, but after I switched to Daiwa, Dobyns, Megabass for few years, I decided go back to Gloomis again.

I own mostly loomis rods along with a few powells. Just picked up a Dobyns fury to try out. It lasted four trips then broke in half for some reason..So that ended that test..Just ordered another Loomis..

Falcon makes some great rods, but they need to come out with something new. Their Cara rods are great for the price, would like to see what they could do with a higher end rod. Instead they keep making slight changes to the Cara series and charging more.

Dobyns rods just feel right in my hands , they balance so well that they come alive with lighter reels on
them !

I have always loved Gloomis. The new 2016 GLX rods have recaptured my heart! Great rods.

100% custom. preferrably on Phenix blanks. Phenix or Daiwa for off the shelf rods.
