Need a frog rod and a jig rod
I don't have any 5 power rods and I need 2 for this summer. I want one for frogs and one for jigs (flipping/pitching and swimming big jigs). Right now I have two thoughts, a dobyns dx745 (for jigs) and a 735ss (for frogs), or a 765c (jigs) and 735c (frogs). Both of these would come out costing the same. Any advice? I also threw around the thought of a falcon amistad which might happen if I lacking in the cash department.

Go with the 765 and 735. Those two rods can be used for a ton of different techniques in addition to what you are looking for out of them.

A powell 775 Endurance for jigs and a 725 Endurance or 735 Max for frogs. The 775 also works great for punching and large topwaters like lunker punkers and wake baits.

Tough to choose. If it were me, I'd probably go with the 765C & 735C. I really didn't like the split handle on the 735SS. I like to have a full handle on heavier rods.fishindrummer217 wrote:Right now I have two thoughts, a dobyns dx745 (for jigs) and a 735ss (for frogs), or a 765c (jigs) and 735c (frogs). I got a couple jig fish today using the DX745. The rod worked great! The problem with using the Champion Extreme series rods is you start comparing all the others to them.
I've not seen one but forum member Falcon & others have spoken pretty highly about the Amistad.

Just a thought:
Zombie 7'10" flippin' rod. IMO, can be used for frogs, swimjigs, swimbaits, jigs, big spinnerbaits, punching.

I would go with the DX745 and the 735ss. The DX series are really nice rods.

I'm also lookin at picking up a 5 power for froggin. The 735ss is what would be ideal for me, but I don't want a split grip rod for froggin, so it looks like I might have to jump up to the 735c. I wish the 735ss had a full handlejoejoe83 wrote:I would go with the DX745 and the 735ss. The DX series are really nice rods.
