I think I have decided on this rod for a new deep crank rod. Anyone use it and do you use it for other applications as well.

I have the gen1 version of this rod. It's not very versatile but does it's job perfectly.

It also makes a very good rod for fishing 1/2-1oz traps in grass, slow rolling spinnerbaits on ledges and small swimbaits when fished with braid. Also, if you are covering large flats with a BDS3, 4, chatterbait, screaming eagle, or similar bait, it is a great rod to cover water with. You can just about spool your reel and cover a lot of water quickly. The rod is long enough that you can still move enough line for a good hookset. It also fishes a lot more like a 7' cranking rod than an 8' cranking rod to me.

I have been using the 7'11" MH Cumara Reaction but purchased the RM 805CB to try. I actually like the Cumara better for deep cranking. It is very crisp and sensitive but still has good flex. I found I like the 805 for spinner baits. Good back bone to set the hook and good length to heave those wind catchers out there.

I was hoping it would be versatile enough for smaller cranks and lipless baits. Looking to throw 10' deep + on this rod, as well as, lipless in grass.
