Just got done giving my new NRX 822SYR a serious smallmouth workout. Best rod I have fished for jighead/shakeyhead fishing. The action was perfect for long casts and just right for working the bait (1/8 - 1/4 oz all day). Paired with a steez 2500 it was light enough that instead of changing rods I just retied on the NRX. I couldn't put it down. Great backbone, great sensitivity, perfect action for me. I could not be happier with the Loomis, I'm probably going to sell my Steez Compile-X spinning stick and pick up a third NRX soon. I can't speak for the megabass since I haven't fished it.

I can't speak for the megabass, but I've been using my NRX 822SYR for two weeks now and love it more each outing. But I still love my 6'8" compilex steez better.

The Aaron Martens rod is the best spinning rod I've ever used.
A GREAT Shakey/DS rod. Unreal sensitivity.

My favorite part of fishing that rod is it balances perfectly with your whole hand in front of the reel.

I've gravitated towards stiffer spinning rods over the years as most of my fishing is jighead fishing. I think I feel the bottom better with a stiffer rod. The loomis/ steez setup is so light and sensitive it's incredible. If you already have the megabass, I don't think you can go wrong with the loomis.

Not yet , i was curious on the sensitivity factor between rods , not to start a fight on an old topic on feel but i heard goods thing about the Loomis, you send me message on this topic so we don't start a war on rods .

I use a MB Shabbler for Shakey head instead of my Aaran even though its not a faster taper, but i don't have any problem setting the hook and once its hooked that fish is not getting off. The Shakey head i use is Keitech with a very sharp thin wire and little force is required to penetrate.
