Dobyns Savvy 734 Vs 735

Post by LordRiper » Fri Jun 17, 2011 11:52 am

I'm about to buy a Dobyns Savvy rod... But in TWH says the 735 is MagHeavy but other sites said that is MH, I'm interested in it if really heavy. If really is MH then I decide to 734 . I plan to use to Pitch in heavy cover, jigs, and so ... Someone try it? is Heavy or MH or MagHeavy?

The 735 is a more powerful stick than the 734. The confusion lies in the fact that Dobyns lists their rods in different categories. The 734 is listed with the 'casting' rods. The 735 is listed with the 'flip and pitch' rods.
The 735 has higher suggested line & lure ranges than the 734.

Heavy cover, I'd go with the 735.

As already stated the 735 is more powerful than the 734. Sounds like you need a 735 IMO. I have a SS734c and throw anything from weightless senkos to 5/8oz jigs + trailers and it handles them all superbly. The rod has more than enough backbone for the light cover around here, but if I were fishing heavy cover I would definitely go with the 5 power rod.

They're great rods at their price point, couldn't recommend the Savvy series enough.

Go with the 735 as stated as it's a great all around rod for heavier tech,. 8-)

I just bought both, and I think you'll want to go with the 735.
