I have an old (6+ years) Stacey King 7' med. light cranking rod from Bass Pro.
It is my favorite Sammie and popper rod.
I recently (last fall) went to BPS and found they were still avaiable, and were on sale, so I bought 2.
The new rods are labeled the same, but they are almost an ounce lighter, and have an even softer tip.
They are very light, and very well made.
So I'm wondering who makes the rods for BPS? Did they do the overseas shuffle, like so many manufs, and go from domestic to Chinese to Korean or Indonesian?
I know several rod manufs., and they tell me the hardest part of rod manufacturing is finding a supplier overseas with good quality control. I'm assuming Bass Pro is a big enough player that they have it solved, and am curious if anyone knows who makes rods for them.
Who make BPS rods?

I don't know this for fact but I bet it's the same place that does Abu's rods.
