customize NRX

Post by WEBBY005383 » Sat Feb 11, 2012 7:34 am

I have several nrx models but dont like how big the reel seat screw is, I like the way a dobynes champion feels where i can put my finger on the blank infront of the reel without having the feel of a cork knob like a nrx. Is there any way of making the dobyns like this? Any help would be appriciated

Can it be done? ... Yes.

Will it be worth the cost? ... Only you can decide.

Your Loomis warranty will more than likely be void. You'll probably have to have some of the guides removed and then replaced. You'll have to buy some components.

Just hip shooting here...but I'd expect it to cost around $200 including shipping the rod back and forth.

I was in the same position recently. If I was going to keep the NRX rod I would have to customize it to suit my tastes. Ultimately, I decided even though the NRX is a really nice stick the additional cost to modify it and then lose the warranty was just not worth it to me. To compensate I have custom NFC HM and another Phenix K2 on the way.

Yes, on my steez rods I can easily put my finger in front of the foregrip.
