Hey Mike,
Seems like you have a few more casting reels than rods so if you ever want to let that Sol go, let me know!!
Nice haul BTW[/quote]
Hey Brad
You noticed the lob lopsidedness of my collection (and pointed it out to boot ) LOL. It's driving me nuts on top of that too. But don't worry - I have a plan. Before the beginning of the season I plan on acquiring a CUC-72MHF and then next season ill add a DX744 and DX743 to the group. This way all will be equal
Plus that gives me some some time to turn 2 of those E5's into 6's for next summer (but I doubt the curado E's will b used very much - I just like having an equal number of rods and reels so everyone has a home and no one feels left out
As for the sol I wouldn't hold your breath, lol. I waited to get my hands on one from Canada for a long time and I don't see myself getting rid of it anytime soon.

Re: How many combos do you guys have
my bad for bringing that up! I am in the same boat but with spinning. 2 spinning reels (stradic Ci4, FJ) and only one spinning rod.......OK maybe not exactly the same.
Well, I'll hold my breath for the Sol just in case cause you never know

12 functional and a few that are just sitting - my problem is narrowing down which ones to put on the deck since I like them all.

Re: How many combos do you guys have
Just in case no one else has posted the wired2fish link, here 'tis...518bassin wrote:There is an article on wired2fish.com called the 6 rod matrix I think. Anyway it's an article about how you can cover pretty much most of the popular techniques with a total of 6 combos. It's a 2 part article if I remember correctly. Do a search and read up I think it could help you make the right decisions. Good luck
Excellent article, also the article has an internal link to a rod/reel/line/application matrix.

Re: How many combos do you guys have
I was thinking of doing the same thing. Would you mind sharing your results? I'm looking for hints for my next purchase for weightless trick worms and senkos.BlaineFred wrote:This is a very interesting thread, and I have copied most of the posts into a Word file so I can use it for reference in making up some of my own combos.
I fish tournaments back-of-the-boat, and I will begin a thread to identify combos that such anglers are using.

Re: How many combos do you guys have
I didn't get very many posts on the back-of-the-boat thread, so it was a little disappointing. I don't have the link handy, but you can search on "combos" as a thread title word.BamaBulldawg wrote:I was thinking of doing the same thing. Would you mind sharing your results? As for my own personal combos, I've been buying some rods and reels, so my combo grouping is still a work in progress.
I can e-mail you the list of posts on this thread that I put into a Word file for reference.
On weightless trick worms, that's basically finesse fishing so you are better off with spinning gear. You can do it with light baitcasting gear such as a Dobyns Extreme DX 701 or 702, and a light reel with a very shallow spool, a Pixy?? Maybe others can provide their views.
