Re: best 2 piece rod?
MBR-783-2C GLX. I have one. It's still with me, mainly because it's a 2 piece. Just about everything else has gone round and round.
Re: best 2 piece rod?
Cabela's XMLs are great 2 piece rods. I have one I use for a traveling rod, but I don't use it very much. Seems like such a waste for such a solid rod, but I know it's there when I need it & it'll work well.

gloomis glx 783-2
Re: best 2 piece rod?
I agree the XML is a solid rod. I have a 2 piece casting rod and two 4 piece travel rods. When I use them I forget that they are not 1 piece. Although they may not be a GLX, they are sensitive and relatively light. If I'm not catching fish with an XML, it's not the fault of the rodKCL655321 wrote:Cabela's XMLs are great 2 piece rods. I do think Cabela's rods tend to be expensive at full price. But they are a very good deal when they approach 30% off.

Thanks for the recommendation. Are there any rod(if existed) that is lightweight, around 100g, sensitive and it is 2 piece with a fast action. Basically a steez broken in 2. I'm a man for portability but I want the best of both sensitive and portability
Re: best 2 piece rod?
That's still pretty open-ended. Do you have a particular Steez in mind that you'd like to find a portable match for?tyrtok wrote:Thanks for the recommendation. Re: best 2 piece rod?
In terms of rod? Probably a STZ601MFBA. How I hope its a 2 piece rod...
Re: best 2 piece rod?
Are you talking casting or spinning? I can't help with casting, but I know St. Croix makes both a 6'6" MF and a 7' MF Legend Elite 2-piece rod. They weigh in at 3.5 and 3.7 ounces respectively. I have the 7' 2-pc, and feel it is just as sensitive as my 7' MF 1-pc Legend Extreme.
Re: best 2 piece rod?
A couple of rods come to mind, although both are pricey options (but you did ask for "best"):
Daiwa Heartland (JDM) HL 742mfb-10: It's a 2-piece baitcast rod with a fast action SVF Compile-X blank, rated for 1/8-1/2oz lures and 0.8-1.5# PE line. It's a bit heavier (145g) and quite a bit longer (7'4") than your Steez, but definitely one of my favorites.
The second one is from the same series: Daiwa Heartland (JDM) HL 684tmmlfb-mil08. There's really nothing else like it. It's actually a 4-piece telescopic interline baitcast rod, so if you want portable, this is about as compact as it gets. It's rated for 3/16-5/8oz lures and 8-16lb line with a claimed weight of 130g. The telescopic blank can be used in two positions - 6' and 6'8," and the fact that the line comes in direct contact across the full length of the blank makes it as sensitive as any rod I own (although, as a downside, it makes a terrible pitching rod IMO). Spec- and performance-wise, I think it's a close fit for what you're looking for, but interline isn't for everyone.
The STZ601MFBA is a baitcast rod. If you're open to spinning, there's probably some other good options worth considering (like the Megabass Orochi Jade Python F3.5-70xsgti).

Re: best 2 piece rod?
The Damiki is definitely not a fast action rod despite being labeled as such. It's more like a Mod. I had one briefly but sold it.
Re: best 2 piece rod?
"Mattman" can turn all, or most, 1-piece rods into a 2-piece at a pretty fair price. I spoke to him a while back about doing so with an MBR 843 GLX for company car travel...Hit him up about the options. I'm sure he'd be happy to help.tyrtok wrote:anyone can recommend in your opinion the best 2 piece rod in terms of sensitivity, weight and action?
