Re: NRX 873 handle 1oz jig?
Though it's rated to 3/4 oz, I have thrown a 1oz football jig with the CRR 873. I think the BCR 875 GLX is better suited to this task, but the 873, though topped out, handled this duty reasonably well. 1/2 to 3/4 oz is really in the zone for the CRR 873.

Gary is dead-on with this...and I also used one of mine last fall to pitch some Omega 1oz. structure jigs into deep dock stalls. I really workes well because I didn't have to stress it with long casts and the "soft" tip (in comparison to some rods actually rated 1+oz.) gave me good feel in the 20+' water.
