St. Croix Avid vs Powell crankbait rod
St. Croix Avid vs Powell crankbait rod
Hello , I'm looking for some inputs regarding St. Croix Avid AVC66MHM crankbait rod vs Powell 684cb crankbait rod , I had Avid in past and I loved it ,but b/c epoxy at first guide from reel was cracked badly I used St. Croix upgrade plan and I switched to Legend Tournament 7' MHM crankbait rod , and I have to say that I liked better avid b/c it was a bit softer and better for throwing smaller cranks IMO .Now I will sell Legend and I will buy next Avid or Powell , I have many Powell rods and I like them a lot . Could you guys compare for me this two rods , ballance , power etc... rod will be paired with Daiwa Alphas type -F (reel have brass gears so weight is around 6,5 oz I think)
Re: St. Croix Avid vs Powell crankbait rod
nobody used this two rods ??? TIA
Re: St. Croix Avid vs Powell crankbait rod
I use the 2012 legend walleye 7' MHM for cranks and love it for baits 1/4 oz+.
Love the micro(ish) guided

Re: St. Croix Avid vs Powell crankbait rod
my powells are amazing, max's balance best at 7'3" and below anything longer i would go endurance way better balanced in that range. all powells have great action never complained at all about their rods. ive messed with my friends st croix before but i cant vouch for them much, all i can say is that i still very much prefer my powells their simply complete solid rods you cant lose.

cant go wrong with either. both good brands

Thanks guys for replays , couldn't find Powell 684cb , looks like they don't make them anymore , ordered Dobyns Champion crankbait rod 684cb I hope this rod will be great combo with my Daiwa alphas -f.
