handle protection ?
are there any covers available so i can protect my cork handles? or is this not recommended?

i've seen lots of ppl use rubber shrink tubes and tennis grip tape.

No odor detected by my "sniffer". Cork feels natural in my hands also. Some say it feels slicker, I do not sense that myself.
Makes keeping the cork looking new very easy.

I've built a few rods with the flocked shrink tube and they look and feel very nice.
