it's interesting to read thru this thread. the most expensive rods i've owned were custom imx years ago, and the steez compile-x. i didn't have any problems with either i don't think, but i may have missed bites i never felt. using fc line is the key for me on feeling worm/jig bites. i tried braid, but i never could get it to work for me. i probably fish way too slow to keep the line tight enough.

after being out of fishing for a few years due to financial problems (sold off ANYTHING that had value lol), i just started gearing back up. i've purchased a couple of the envy black rods for plastics & jigs, but i haven't got to actually fish them yet. i'm interested to see how these fair for me.

I think you'll be super happy with these rods. I bought four from a sale that was happening for ~$120 dollars each. (Thankjs to TT for pointing out the sale) Great rods!

Most sensitive rod I've used is probably my eternity2 76mh jig rod.

No love for the Poison Adrena / Glorious? Pretty light, balanced and sensitive imo. Right up there for sure.

this thread is so old I can't recall if I have commented previously

The BCR 803 GLX and NRX 893c are the two most sensitive rods I've fished. I've not fished them side by side so I can't say for sure the winner. The 894 and 803 NRX are not far behind.

I'd note if we are into a terms of "hands down" I think any dialog of that is misguided without talking the line, reel and lure you use. When we get to very subtle differences these play out. A reason exists that all my bottom bouncing reels are made of Magnesium I suspect. A reason exists I fish braid or FC on all bottom bouncing and it is not abrasion resistance. Likely a reason exists that my most sensitive rods are both xfast. That BCR 803 glx is actually xxfast.

I've rarely seen a good definition of sensitivity so I will provide one that hit me many years ago. A really sensitive rig requires less processing in your brain to figure out what is going on. In side by side tests one day, I realized on the more sensitive rod I did not need to think ask much to determine what was going on. The bite of a panfish had me wanting to set the hook for a second on the less sensitive rig and not even thinking about doing that on the more sensitive.
