Haven't fish with nrx852, however I own an 802 GLX so I am more biased toward the 852. The 802 is fine for shakey head for me.
My shakey head set-up: 802glx, Daiwa Pixy or curado 50E, 10 lbs flouro.

I use the 702 for both drop shot and shaky heads, and it works well. It casts 3/16oz stuff just fine, with a Chronarch MG50 and 8lb fluoro.

I think you'll be fine.
I use a 2 power for this application. No problem getting a shakey head hook through the lip when setting the hook.
The give in the lighter power rod is key to keeping 4lb+ fish pinned without breaking off or bending a hook out.

Powell 682c and 7'2 med cumara are what I use.
