Lamiglas Infinity rod ratings?

Post by sjc91 » Sun Nov 24, 2013 12:46 am

I figured with the 3M/Pure fishing deal I should snag one of these rods up before theyre harder to find.

I think I've read that you guys say they aren't really true to their rod ratings...I'm looking to throw 1/4-1/2oz jigs. Which rod in the infinity line up would you guys recommend for that?

Thanks for the help!

Depends on what type of jig fishing you are doing. I have the 724 and use it for 1/2oz football heads with hula grubs and beavers for smallmouth. This is perfect for this technique and will handle lighter weights very nicely. If you are wanting to pitch 1/2oz jigs into cover, then I would get the next one up in power, I believe it is the 735 or 725, can't remember off the top of my head. They are rated heavier then they can handle, that is for sure. Very nice rods.

I am shore bound so I will mostly be casting 1/4-1/2oz jigs with paca chunks or smallie beavers as trailers

I would get the "Heavy" Infinity if you are used to your 704. Sensitivity is very, very close IMO. They are very sensitive sticks.
