G Loomis 953C FPR glx

Post by dusty » Thu Jan 02, 2014 3:35 am

Just ordered this bad boy. Will report back with findings and field testing experience. Nowhere to go handle one so buying blind but I think it'll be all good. Sold a mossyback bcfr894 to get this so line/lure is comparable.

Anyone have this rod?

I'm sure you will love it. Can't wait to read your review on the rod. I have the 895 and have to say this rod is great. Pull big fish out of some nasty stuff with no problem.

I am hoping the 7'11 is versatile... I am mainly going to flip rock ledges but I want something I can put the hammer down and punch with too... Hopefully it's lure weight range is a little larger than listed

Just got here... Rod feels great in hand. Length is going to make flipping and punching a breeze. Right now it is rigged up with a curado 200e7 and 50# sufix 832. Balances a couple fingers above the reel. Damn good for 7'11". Have a 1/2 oz mop jig and 4" chigger craw and that's probably 3/4 oz total. No use yet but feels really sensitive dragging the tile from my second story. Haha
