Re: Crainkbait/Topwater Rod Poll
I was playing around at the local pond last weekend and had my 704CB and 705CB Glass with me. On a whim I tied a Bandit 200 (1/4 oz) on the 705 and tried it. It worked better than I thought it would!! Normally I'd throw the Bandit on the 704 w/ 10-12# line but it did work on the 705 w/ 15#. I'm thinking the glass construction of the 705 even though it's faster than the graphite version makes it a little more forgiving.

I'm really happy to hear that! I can't wait to play with mine and string it up. It will be my first Dobyns rod I'll be getting it Tuesday. Going to braid back my spool to lighten it up a bit and going with 12lb Yozuri Hybrid on the BB1 Pro. The first thing I do will be to tie on a 1/4 oz weight and toss it.Mike Andrews wrote:I was playing around at the local pond last weekend and had my 704CB and 705CB Glass with me. I use both the 704cb and 705cb glass rods quite a bit. The 705cb glass to me is best described as a 1/2 power step up from the 704cb. The glass does make it a little easier to cast lighter baits. The 705cb glass is a very versatile rod.
