i was hoping they would be bass rods but i could use a steelhead salmon rod....
Re: Phenix at ICast
They look like something I could use for UL cranking. Say 1/8-3/16oz lipless, shallows and minnowsslicksouthpaw wrote:i was hoping they would be bass rods but i could use a steelhead salmon rod....

That is 100% correct. We make use of the new Fuji Torzite guide system on the K2s. When the guides were first ordered Fuji had Back Ordered them on us for 6 months. Then, When we finally received the guides, they sent the wrong size stripper guide. So since they made the mistake you would think they would correct it ASAP.!? But NO,, they BOrd them again on us for almost 4 months. All this puts a delay in the manufacturing and release of the K2s. However, like the old saying goes, some things are worth the wait! And the new K2s are Nothing short of AMAZING!! They also are now available in a two piece series! The spinning splits dead center while the casting splits at the top of fore grip. Tackle Tour now has the write up done on the front page! Thanks TT and all its fans!

How are the backbones on these rods? The 713 s seems to be calling my name but i have heard they are a little underpowered for their line/lure ratings? I imagine using this rod for long distance dropshotting from the banks.
Re: Phenix at ICast
I have drop shotted on a 712L quite extensively on a custom build and it lacked neither power to set hook or control the fish. A 713ML would be more powerful again, I'm certain its more than enough to penetrate with a dropshot hook. What's addictive about the K2s is the ability to to work purely on feel, index finger on the blank I can feel the shape and composition of the bottom let alone the bites. By not having to focus on watching for line jump affords better situation awareness ie. I'm usually looking for my next cast while I'm working one cast. Very addictive rod to use.i_am_R2 wrote:How are the backbones on these rods? The 713 s seems to be calling my name but i have heard they are a little underpowered for their line/lure ratings?
