Nrx894 new reelseat???
Nrx894 new reelseat???
Can anyone with an nrx 894 let me know if their rod has a new type of trigger compared to the other lower power nrx casting rods?
Re: Nrx894 new reelseat???
I have an 894 and 854 which is not a lower power, but an older rod. The trigger looks the same to me.
The 894 is on the left, 854 on right

It's the feel, not the look. Check for rubbery tackiness vs. hard and slick on the trigger.cumara wrote:I have an 894 and 854 which is not a lower power, but an older rod. The trigger looks the same to me.

Compared to the 893 the triggers on the 894 & 895 are larger.

That is what im noticing. It also feels like it has sharper edges than all of my other nrx casting rods.

Seems like I noticed an extra bead of epoxy on the front portion of the 894 and 895. Maybe to beef them up as I know I had and 854 and 893 that it came loose and had to be warrantied.

I have had that issue on a few nrx rods. The way the thread (front) portion of the 894 reelseat is now one piece in my opinion is a great upgrade and i hope they carry it over to the lower powered rods as it will solve the issue of the trim ring behind the threads coming undone.Unimog wrote:Seems like I noticed an extra bead of epoxy on the front portion of the 894 and 895. That is not why there is extra epoxy on the reel seats of the 894 and 895. The reel seat issue was something else altogether that has been resolved. It simply has to do with the blank taper and size for those rod models.
