Switching from Dobyns to NRX...
Switching from Dobyns to NRX...
I've decided to take the NRX plunge!
The only thing stopping me thus far are the bizarre(compared to Dobyns) ratings on the NRXs. In your opinons, which NRXs compare best to the DX703c and DX704c?
Also whats with the NRXs line ratings!? Thanks for your help everyone!

Are you stuck on the 7' length? If not, what is the longest you'd own? What kind of fishing/lures are you doing?
Re: Switching from Dobyns to NRX...
No I was looking at the 7'5" NRXs.
I mostly fish Texas Rigs with 1/8-3/16oz weights and a roboworm, 1/4-1/2oz jigs and 1/8-3/16oz Shakeyheads

I'm in the same boat and looking for a rod to replace my DX745C as my 1/2 oz jig rod.
Any recommendations?

Looks like I'll start with the 893 then! One last question. Is the sensitivity compared to the champion extreme really noticeable?
Thanks and sorry for the newbie questions!

Great choice to start with the 893. Yes, it's clearly noticeable and vastly in favor of the NRX in my hands.sjc91 wrote:Looks like I'll start with the 893 then! One last question. Is the sensitivity compared to the champion extreme really noticeable?

yep. it truly is.
don't buy any old stock on the NRX's however.
Another 893 reel seat let go on my yesterday.
It was a two year old rod however.

Agreed with the others, NRX 894... it's an outstanding jig rod. Check these out:godshippy wrote:I'm in the same boat and looking for a rod to replace my DX745C as my 1/2 oz jig rod.

What is the difference between a rep sample and a dealer demo?
Cheers,

Re: Switching from Dobyns to NRX...
I can only speak for The Tackle Trap, by our definition, a "rep sample" has never been used, but may or may not have been shown by a rep to dealers, etc. A "dealer demo" is a rod that our staff has used, frequently only once, to demonstrate it's performance to prospective customers for example. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you have any other questions to avoid derailing the threadSteveSchmelzle wrote:What is the difference between a rep sample and a dealer demo?

Thank you kindly.
Re: Switching from Dobyns to NRX...
I picked up a dealer demo rod from Gary @ TT, definitely buy with confidence, my dealer demo rod aside from the tiniest amount of stain on the cork was pretty much brand new...
