I prefer the tapers of the older mbr's over the faster tapers of the nrx's. Cover will dictate my using either the 842, 843,
or 844. I have yet to use an nrx in the mag bass tapers.............yet!

I use a IMX MBR 843 with 40lb braid, seems to work good.

The NRX 843 MBR is a sweet swim jig rod among a lot of other things!
Re: G.loomis swim jig
I use my BCR GLX 802. I sold the GLX 842 a while back and missed it dearly.

Re: G.loomis swim jig
Been using my NRX 843 for swim jigs, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits and buzzbaits among other things and it is fantastic for these uses. Perfect tip for casting and loading a light swim jig and enough power to throw the heavier ones. Threw some 5/16oz on my 842 and it worked fine to, just like more power in the 843.

Bingo, probably my all time favorite rod I've ever owned.bronzefly wrote:The NRX 843 MBR is a sweet swim jig rod among a lot of other things!
