Dobyns Fury

Post by JWR075 » Fri Feb 20, 2015 2:08 am

Looks like Dobyns is joining the $100.00 market. You can see it on Mike Bucca's Facebook page. Green highlights on natural graphite colored rod.

As much as I like Dobyns rods, I wonder what exactly will be the difference between this rod and the Savvy...

Judging by the video, it looks pretty sweet!

Split grip with EVA but and cork at the reel seat. I would assume the blank and guides are different.

Wow they look awesome, and knowing how good the other Dobyns rods are I bet it will perform just as good! Anxious to check them out. Probably gonna be the best bang for the buck rod in the $100-$120 price range.

Well I plan on finding out. I heard there's a 704 and a 735 in the lineup and those will be on my list. I'll try and post a comparison with my Savvys if you like. Looks like a May release. I hope the west coast port slow downs don't delay the release to dealers.

What's up with the two 1st time posters in this thread  ;) . The Savvy was a light balanced stick that was pretty nice for tossing moving baits. Unfortunately it felt dead for bottom contact stuff in my hands. This new stick has attractive looks that are bound to catch fishermen for sure.

Best in the $100.00 range? That will be a tough road with rods like the Omen which in the TT review and reviews by others seems to be one of the best sub $150.00 rods out there.

Wish Dobyns would put some info out. Guess they're too busy working the booth at the Classic..... Going to a Classic is on my bucket list.

You all know I'm a big Dobyns fan but the proof will be in the pudding. Pics look nice but I'll need to hold one in my hands.
