Got to try a spinner bait on an 873c this weekend, little too soft. Sounds like you made the right choice of the 894c.

You will enjoy the 894 Ryan but don't under estimate the 873. Some of the guys on here say it can't handle 3/4oz but I use a 3/4oz tungsten weight and a 3.5" craw for days each summer and pull fish out from that green slop and cover all day long, and that's with 22lb Fluoro not braid. The Aldebaran pulled the one of the 5lbr's of my trip out with ease, it's a little shorter so the accuracy for me is better than my 7'5" rods.

All in all can't go wrong, my next NRX will be the 894 for 1/2oz jig in the deep weed.
