Re: Phenix Rods K2s
Ok just got a set of them in. The longest Rod the 7'6" heavy balanced without a reel at 5" in front of the reel seat. Put a Shimano Core on it and it balanced right at the trigger! Haven't weighed the Rod yet, or measured the handle length. But they feel AMAZING IN HAND.

Wow, very impressive with such a light reel. Is there a reason why there's no info on the website about them or any dealers that's going to carry them?Vince Borges wrote:Ok just got a set of them in. Amazing effort to get a rod and reel combo to balance at the trigger. Could we see photos please? Also what weight have you added to the butt to achieve this ?
Re: Phenix Rods K2s
Not crazy about exposed threads for the locking mechanism ... Otherwise, looks great!

The reel seat is deal breaker for me . Custom build would be my only way around it.

Not yet. I just don't care for that particular style. More of a personal preference thing. I have a custom built K2 spinning rod and love it. The K2 blanks are outstanding.Chode wrote:what's wrong with the reel seat? have u held it?Fishing4Fun wrote:The reel seat is deal breaker for me . Custom build would be my only way around it.

Called tackle warehouse today & they have all one piece models in casting and spinning. It's just a matter of time for them to get the images loaded onto the site

Re: Phenix Rods K2s
They look nice but there's so much going on in front of the locking nut. Could've done away with it but I'm assuming that was more for balancing than aesthetics?
