Looking to add another NRX
Hi Guys,
I'm looking to add another NRX, I currentley have a 984C, and 843C MBR. Im looking to add a WJ rod that falls in between the two I curentley have I'm eyeballing the 873C,853, & 893C what I need to know is if the tips are stiffer than the MBR. I love the MBR for working rigs on the lower end of its lure rating, but when I get into the 5/8 range my personel preferance would be for a stiffer tip.
Any advice would be appreciated
Rich

Re: Looking to add another NRX
As far as tip stiffness goes, the 873C CRR rod has a considerably stiffer tip and stronger backbone than the 843C. The 853C and 893C have a similar tip stiffness however they bend into the rods backbone noticeably quicker than the 843C, obviously due to the extra fast rating vs. fast on the 843C. If you are out on the water fishing 1/4 and 3/8oz jigs or anything bottom contact, you will find that the 853C or 893C feel slightly stiffer in the tip than the 843C, strictly due to the faster action on those rods.

I would not be comfortable fishing 5/8 on my 893. To me it just seems overworked at those weights. My choice would be the 873, its a pertty strong 3 power rod.

You'll be happy with the CRR 873 for 5/8 oz bottom contact stuff. It's definitely in between the MBR 843 and JWR 894 in terms of power. The Tackle Trap has some fine deals on a few Loomis RS rods at present, about to get more!

Stop with the shameless plugs. They have no place here. "Cheaper" and "better" comparatives are weak....Jdmbassman wrote:Get in touch with http://www.thehookuptackle.com

no one has better service than gary and the guys at the tackle trap in my experience, and as far as cheaper goes, give gary a call and see what he can do.

All I can say is don't be shocked if you don't get a fair price with Tackle Trap. With the the seller I suggested, there is no messing around, they give you their best price, you don't need to wait for so called specials.
I've bought $8k worth of fishing equipment over the last couple of months and I know who I will continue to do business with.

Do they have free delivery to the Asylum?
Re: Looking to add another NRX
You're not getting a fair price from the Tackle Trap? Did you run over Gary's dog or something?
I've always received great pricing and information from the Tackle Trap. Plus, you know, board sponsor, which is cool. Supports the forum, which gives us somewhere to have Daiwa v. Shimano arguments over the winter.
FWIW, you also have to call the Hookup for deals sometimes.
