Help with BFS rod
So, I'm on a hunt for another BFS rod. I currently have a Dobyns 702C that I really enjoy. I am wanting to get a setup that is a little lighter powered than the 702. Obviously, the 701 was the first thing that came to mind, but am open to other options. Just want to make sure I am not overlooking any of my options.
My criteria:
at least 6'10"
lighter powered than the 702
med-fast to fast (preferably on the faster side)
price isn't a huge concern, but if it could be easily had for <$300 that would be great
My list that I have come across are the 701C, Phenix Recon2 712C and the Poison Adrena 610L. Anything else? Thoughts on these rods?
Thanks!

It may be over your budget, but I am sure you can find one for around $300, NRX 852c JWR.
One of my all time favorite BFS is my DX702, the taper is perfect, but the light sensitive tip, and the versatility of the 852 is something you have to experience.
Another rod that would have a slightly less fast taper than the 852 would be the 842 MBR NRX. Another awesome rod.

How about the Kistler Helium 3 ML rods? They are rated down to 1/16 oz and I have read that their rods tend to be a little lighter in power than advertised.

I'd go for the 6'10L Adrena.

Re: Help with BFS rod
Your length requirement is a bit limiting for such a rod. If you're willing to go 6'6"-6'9" I'd say an MS-X or MS-X limited BFS would suit your needs perfectly. The volkeys are nice, too, but obviously a step down in terms of weight and balance.

Re: Help with BFS rod
If you dont mind a saltwater bait finesse rod, check out the Abu Garcia Eradicator.. they have models that are 7'5 and 7'10 as well as a 6'11. The weight range ratings (1.5 grams to 20 grams) on these things are insane and they look super sick. Im very tempted to order one on looks alone.
