A 741 would be killer! Unfortunately, since they discontinued the 701, I wouldn't hold my breath for a 741.

The DX 701 SF HP is back and posted on the Dobyns website. I have the DX Gen 2 DX 742 SF. I fish shakey heads, drop shot, tubes and hula grubs up to 3/8 ounce. It works.

what about it makes you want to upgrade and what do you use the 2 powered rod for? I can't seem to find much reason to get excited about a 2p rod.
Really depends on where (conditions) & how you fish. If I wasn't fishing the Delta most of the time (i.e. really heavy cover), I'm sure I'd fish them more. Both the DX742S & DX742C are special rods. What everyone needs to keep in mind is that they are two different models with distinct power differences.

Good thread on the 'old' DX742SF. viewtopic.php?f=46&t=29453

Some info on the 'old' DX742C. http://forums.tackletour.com/viewtopic. ... 2c#p392926

The new DX HP's continue to impress. I think I already mentioned that I now own a 743, 744 & 745. Hoping to add some other models. A smart person would wait until the Black Friday sales. Of course, nobody ever accused me of being smart. \:D/

I'm hoping to upgrade my 745 with the Black Friday sales. One of my all time favorite rods.

If you decide that you can't wait for one of those sales, give us a call. We offer fine deals any day of the year without waiting for a particular event...

Positive feedback keeps pouring in from Dobyns fans about these new Extreme HP rods... I'm glad to see and read the positive reviews on these!

Have any of you dealers or team members heard if there will be more models, or if there will be any full grip versions of the 7ft casting rods?

It won't be from me. I don't have as much "extra money" since my son went away to college. I still have great toys just not money in the budget to keep buying rods just to 'test' them out.

I too am waiting and searching to hear any comparison between the blanks. Hoping someone will give their honest opinion when they have the chance to compare.

Just unpacked the 703C HP. First impressions are very impressive. Seems a tad lighter and better balanced than previous gen. Part of this would have to be due to the fact that the handle is a little longer. The blank seems very crips and "seems" like it is going to be a more sensitive rod. I really like the new look too. Still looks cool and somewhat JDM, but not over the top, which I felt that the previous gen could be seen as. Through in the Fuji guides and a definite winner in my opinion.

One last thing. Not wanting to cause any speculation, but the weave on the blank looks EXACTLY like the Megabass XX rods.

Gary mentions in his video that the new Extreme HP series have Fuji tangle free guides. I'm assuming that these aren't micro guides. Are they semi micro guides like some of the other manufactures or normal SIC guides? Maybe someone can answer this that has already purchased a new Extreme HP. Thanks in advance.
