I have the XBD rod and I like it. I've tried the Z2020sh on it, a zillion , Core MG7 and some thing else but I would have to say without a doubt Loomis IMX 844 rod with a zillion reel and pe spool is by far, IMO the man to beat when fishing sparse cover. It was one of the setups that really allowed me to learn how-to walk a frog. There are more expensive rods out there and there are cheaper ones but the 844 is the right length and the right action to set the hook on a long cast.
I do like the XBD rod and of all the reels i've used. none have complimented the rod like the core MG7.
