im not positive but with the release of the E6X the sales have plummeted on the GL2s so it may be possible and to be honest a smart business move my Loomis. I do think the Shimano Exprides and Adrenas are being discontinued in America though...

not surprised. I have a bunch of GL3's (SJR700, 842, 843) and one E6X (MBR843c) and I find that the E6X feels just like the GL3 blanks.

if the E6X is as good or better than the GL3s, it should blow the GL2s out of the water..all for less money.

its a no brainer. The E6X's are that good.

except for folks who fish more than just bass, the GL2 had a wide product offering covering more lengths and weights....

we use the gl2 1266C models for lake ontario dipsy rods....

they released the blank in the crappy e6x model, without a cork handle....website says the graphite grips add durability for use in a rod holder....bull freaking crap....anyone try to hold onto a 30lbs salmon tearing drag out of the tekota at 100' every 10 seconds try and hold onto that rod with a graphite grip.....

cork grips are what is needed for that....graphite will BREAK on a big hit from a salmon with the rod in the holder....

friggin Shimano...i swear they stopped listening to anglers, and only listen to their number crunchers that determine profit.

They are definitely getting rid of the current gl2 models, a few stores here in Pa had them on sale for 50%-60% off.

They can be had for 80-90 bucks in some local shops at the moment. Not my cup of tea or I'd buy a couple.

Dick's has them 25% off what they're already marked down. Not many left, though.

Dicks Sporting goods Bethel Park, near Pittsburgh. I made a thread in hot deals back in May but they are probably gone by now.

well, I call it the way I see it....not the way I'm "told" to see it....

graphite grips for rods that sit in rod holders is one of the best ones yet....

almost as good as "we can't justify the tooling costs for left handed reels in low gear ratio's" OR "we have only seen 1% to 2% of nrx real seat failures thus far" ....

LoL x 10000 ;)
